A sand timer, also known as an hourglass, is a centuries-old device for measuring time. Fine grain sand runs from an upper glass bulb into a lower glass bulb. When all sand has run to the bottom, a specific increment of time has elapsed and the device can be inverted to begin again. This classic GW Schleidt design measures a 5-minute time increment and features green sand and a wood-finish stand with a Natural stain. Overall height is 6 inches.
